Day 1 at the Commonwealth Games 2014

What a start to the Commonwealth Games 2014 for our Young Leaders! While several were volunteering at a festival on Glasgow Green yesterday, others were helping spectators get to the opening ceremony, which took place last night in spectacular style.

Denzel, who carried the Baton for Glasgow earlier this summer, had the task of welcoming the 40,000 spectators as they walked up to Celtic Park to the ceremony. “Hello Glasgow!” he bellowed through his megaphone, to much applause. Today the competitions will start, including badminton, hockey, lawn bowls, netball, squash and table tennis. We will be reporting on how young people and athletes get on throughout the Games so watch this space.
